Sk i nde r Ahmad Da r f rom Kashmi r Un i ve r s i t y d i scussed a l ong-t e rm correlation study between X-ray spectral parameters of Mkn 421 using Astrosat data. Ritish Kumar from CUHP presented evidence of the early evolutionary phase of Quasars inweak emission line quasars. The fourth session was on X-ray binaries, chaired by Dr Mubashir Hamid. Aru Beri from IISER Mohali presented AstroSat observations of accretion-powered millisecond X-ray pulsars. Sajad Ahmad Bokad from Kashmir University discussed the time-resolved spectroscopy of a GRS 1915+105 flare during its unusually low state. SrinivasMRao fromARIES presented a photometric study of the eclipsing binary V1460. The second session was on Blazars II, chaired by Dr Zahir Ahmad Shah. The talks presented in the session were by Avik Kumar Das from IISER Mohali, who presented a spectral evolution study and TeV BL Lac TXS 0518+211 modelling. Athar Ahmad Dar from Kashmir University discussed the potential of FSRQ 3C 345 as a candidate for Very High Energy, revealing significant VHE emission during specific flux states. Shubham Kishore from ARIES shared insights into detecting quasi- periodic oscillations in the Blazar S4 0954+658 using TESS. Javid Ahmad Tantray from Kashmir University discussed the constraining of the jet power of Mrk 50 by utilising multi-wavelength observations. Megha from IISER Mohali presented ongoing work on Fermi-LAT gamma-ray spectral and temporal states during VHE episodes of FSRQs. Using a leptonic model, Aaqib Manzoor from Kashmir University explored the Very High Energy gamma-ray excess in nearby Blazars. Forest using simulations and AI. The sixth session was on Galaxies / AGN II. Prof. Kanak Saha chaired the session, which covered a broad spectrum of topics related to Galaxies and AGN. Madhu Sudan from CUHP explored the optical flux and colour variability of the Narrow Line Seyfert Galaxy using the ZTF light curves. Sheeraz Ahmad Khanday from Kashmir University discussed the morphology, colour- magnitude diagrams, and scaling relations of galaxies in Abell 426. Humaira Bashir, also from Kashmir University, presented a GMRT study of diffuse radio emission in galaxy clusters and groups. Dharmender from CUHP discussed the correlation between optical slopes of power spectra and the physical properties of active galactic nuclei. At the same time, Himanshu Sharma, also from CUHP, presented a search for quasi-periodic oscillations in intermediate-mass AGNs. The "Himalayan Meet of Astronomers" successfully achieved its primary objective of fostering in-depth discussions, knowledge exchange, and collaborations among experts in the field. The diverse sessions covered a wide range of astrophysical phenomena, from the minute scales of X-ray binaries to the grandeur of galaxies, with an intersection of cutting-edge technologies like AI and ML. The presentations and discussions provided valuable insights, addressing unresolved questions and paving the way for future advancements in astrophysics. The conference's primary objective was to see how various institutes and universities of the North Indian states have addressed astrophysics at the grassroots level. Such programs will help in generating interest among the younger student population. The conference was organ i sed by Professor Naseer Iqbal (University of Kashmir) and Professor Hum Chand (Central University of Himachal Pradesh) supported by the Islamic University of Science and Technology Awantipora Pulwama (IUST), Kashmir (J & K), Inter- University Centre for Astronomy and Astrophysics (IUCAA), Pune, the University of Kashmir, Srinagar (KU) and the Central University of Himachal Pradesh (CUHP). | 22 | KHAG L | No. 130 - JANUARY, APRIL & JULY 2023
