As part of more formal education efforts, IUCAA has also set up a Teaching Learning Centre and National Resource Centre at its Astronomy Centre for Educators and it also hosts the India Centre of the International Astronomical Union’s Office of Astronomy for Education. The former runs the IUCAA Summe r Schoo l on As t ronomy and Astrophysics, the Radio Astronomy Winter School along with several seminars on Education, Science and Society. The latter is helping to advance the professionalization of astronomy education by conducting various teacher training programs and developing materials for facilitating teaching of Astronomy at school level.
