SUMMER ASTRONOMY CAMP This camp was conducted during April 25 - May 20, 2016, and was coordinated by Samir Dhurde and Sonal Thorve, with experimental devices prepared byMaharudraMate. (For details seeKhagol, No. 107, July 2016 ) 144 TRANSIT OF MERCURY - MAY 9, 2016 IUCAAScipop played amajor role in the nationwide campaign, initiated by theAstrononmical Society of India (ASI), to observe the Transit ofMercury. The event, thus, reached at least 100,000 people. This is a rare event and Samir Dhurdewas the coordinator.
